The 944 Lean
Steve K submitted this photo taken by Alejo M at the 48 Hours at Sebring Club Race
Autocross in 2023. Steve has two blue 944 S2’s and Alejo captured Steve piloting this 1989 S2
that was delivered from the factory in Baltic Blue, a rare color for 944’s (most of them are red,
black or white). This 944 has been used extensively for Driver’s Education, autocross and
events where Steve and his wife Dottie need to haul a lot of stuff.
Steve says, “In the picture you see what I call the 944 lean, and yes while handling is extremely
neutral, stock 944’s do lean when pushed to the limit.”
The Steve & Dottie have been running the GCR Autocross program for over 20 years and were the first
PCA Autocross team to offer autocross as part of the 48 Hours at Sebring Club Race activities.
